Today, we’re excited to highlight someone who has had their finger on the pulse of the future of sports for decades: legendary agent and valued member of the NRFL team, Leigh Steinberg.

A powerhouse in the industry, Leigh has represented the number one overall pick in the NFL draft a record eight times, in addition to over 60 other first-round picks. Having co-founded a sports agency, Leigh has negotiated $3 billion in contracts for players including Troy Aikman, Steve Young, and Patrick Mahomes. In fact, his iconic career has cemented his place in sports and entertainment culture, serving as the inspiration for the 1996 film Jerry Maguire.

As founder of The Leigh Steinberg Agent Academy, Leigh works to provide aspiring agents with an education that can only be provided by the industry’s best. He recognizes the importance of investing in the future, which he has done, in part, through his role on our Board of Advisors.

With his legendary track record and eye for the next big thing in sports, it’s no surprise that he recognizes the NRFL as his next star. Leigh has understood the power of rugby since his days at UC Berkeley, where he was first introduced to the sport. “Rugby’s got it all,” Leigh said. “It’s got fast action, it can be played by people of all ages, and it looks great on television.”
